The UCU negotiates nationally over pay and conditions like pensions. However, many of the day-to-day aspects of your employment are subject to local negotiations, such as Royal Holloway’s employment policies, workload overloading and individual grievances. In order to do this we need a thriving local Branch to negotiate with the Senior Management Team and other representatives of Royal Holloway’s administration.
The Royal Holloway branch of the University and College Union and Royal Holloway, University of London, entered into a collective recognition agreement in March 2014, for areas not covered by national bargaining arrangements. This agreement is designed to maintain a positive approach to relations between management and the union, and defines recognition of and representation by the union in relationship to the college.
